German technical background VOK®-AP 552 wax auxiliary

VOK®-AP 552 is a wax emulsion based on high-density polyethylene that improves scratch resistance in waterborne coatings and inks.

Wax emulsion of non-ionic oxidation of high-density polyethylene.

Carrier: Water 

Melting point (wax composition): 130 °C 

Viscosity (23 °C, D=800/s): 25 mPa·s pH: 9 

Storage and transportation 

The product is temperature sensitive and must be stored and transported at 5 °C - 35 °C. Stir well before use.

Recommended dosage

 1-6% additive dosage (purchased form) based on total formulation of waterborne coatings. 

3-14% additive dosage (purchased form) based on total water-based ink formulation. 

The above recommended addition amount is for reference, and the suitable addition amount needs to be determined by a series of tests. 

Incorporation method and processing guidance 

The additive is best added at a low shear rate at the end of production. Stir well before use.
