Description

The MAX9286 Gigabit Multimedia Serial Link (GMSL) deserializer receives data from up to four GMSL serializers using 50Ω coaxial or 100Ω shielded twisted-pair (STP) cables and outputs data over four CSI-2 channels. Each serial link has an embedded control channel operating from 9.6kbps to 1Mbps, with operating modes of UART to UART, UART to I²C, and I²C to I²C modes. Using the control channel, the µC is able to set the serializer, deserializer and any peripheral registers at any time, independent of video timing. Maskable broadcast operation speeds up the setting of image sensor registers. For longer cables, the deserializer has a programmable cable equalizer and programmable error detection and error correction. Serial inputs meet ISO 10605 and IEC 61000-4-2 ESD standards. The core power supply range is 1.7 V to 1.9 V and the I/O power supply range is 1.7 V to 3.6 V. The devices are available in lead-free (Pb), 56-pin, 8mm x 8mm SWTQFN and TQFN packages with bare pads and 0.5 mm pin spacing.
