Description
The OPx177 series consists of extremely high precision single, dual, and quad amplifiers with extremely low offset voltage and drift, low input bias current, low noise, and low power consumption. The output is stable when using capacitive loads of 1000 pF or more, and no external compensation is required. The supply current of each amplifier is less than 500 μA at a supply voltage of 30 V. The built-in 500 Ω series resistor protects the input signal, allowing the input signal level to be several volts above the supply voltage and ensuring no inversion.
Unlike previous very low-distortion-voltage, high-voltage amplifiers, the OP1177 (single-channel) and OP2177 (dual-channel) amplifiers are available in small 8-pin surface-mount MSOP and 8-pin narrow-body SOIC packages. The OP4177 (quad-channel) amplifier is available in both TSSOP and 14-pin narrow-body SOIC packages. In addition, the MSOP and TSSOP packages are rated for the same performance as the SOIC package. MSOP and TSSOP package products are available in tape and reel format only.
The OPx177 series has the widest temperature rating range of any high precision amplifier in a surface mount package. All models are rated for operating temperatures from -40 °C to +125 °C, making them suitable for the most demanding operating environments.
Applications for these amplifiers include precision diode power measurements, voltage and current level settings, and level detection in optical and wireless transmission systems. Other applications include line powered portable instrumentation and control elements: thermocouples, RTDs, strain bridges and other sensor signal conditioning, and precision filters.
