Description

The MP8017 is an integrated IEEE 802.3af-compliant Power over Ethernet (PoE) powered device with an integrated power transfer (PD) interface and flyback power converter. The PD interface has all IEEE 802.3af standard features, including detection, classification, inrush current, operating current limit, and 100V hot-swap MOSFETs.

Designed for active clamped primary regulation (PSR) in flyback topologies, the MP8017 flyback converter supports small size and high efficiency. For optimal regulation performance, the MP8017 can also be set to secondary side regulation (SSR) for active clamp flyback topologies via an optocoupler on the secondary side.

The MP8017 can provide a front-end solution for PoE PD applications with few external components and is available in a QFN-19 (3mmx4mm) package.
