Description

The MPQ4436/4436A is a synchronous buck switching regulator with integrated top and bottom tube power MOSFETs and adjustable frequency. It uses current control mode to provide 6A (or less) efficient output with fast loop response. Its wide operating input voltage range of 3.3V to 45V makes it suitable for a variety of buck applications in automotive environments. 1.7μA off quiescent current makes it suitable for battery-powered applications.

By reducing the switching frequency under light load conditions, switching and gate drive losses are reduced, resulting in high power conversion efficiency over a wide load range. An open-drain power supply normal indication (PG) signal indicates whether the output voltage is within the normal range (93% to 106%). The frequency foldback function prevents loss of inductor current during start-up.

Over-temperature shutdown protection ensures stability and reliability of operation.

High duty cycle and low dropout mode are available for automotive cold start conditions.

The MPQ4436/4436A is available in a QFN-20 (4mmx4mm) package.
