Product Description
Allen-Bradley 1734-AENTR is a dual Ethernet POINT I/O communication module used to connect a POINT I/O rack to a central controller in an Ethernet I/P network. The adapter can be implemented in ring, star, and tree topologies and is powered by an external 24VDC power supply. 1734-AENTR supports TCP/UDP/IP protocols that use Class 5 or Class 6 cables to establish physical connections. This adapter has auto-negotiation and supports 10/100 Mbit transfer speeds. Configure the module using RSLogix5000 or Studio5000 Logix Designer software. The choice of software depends primarily on the firmware of the existing module and the necessary features required to enable it, such as security and bug repair. In addition, RSLinx software can be used to detect and configure this module. IP addresses can be assigned by a finger wheel switch or using the BOOT-P DHCP utility. In most applications, this module is configured with a static IP address. Using a static IP address, the IP address does not change even if the device is powered off. Alternatively, you can configure dynamic IP addresses for modules. With dynamic address types, the IP address changes each time a module is powered on again. This pattern is suitable for applications with very specific requirements, as it can cause communication errors due to sudden changes in IP addresses. This module is installed on the far left side of the POINT I/O system and is the only module that connects to the network and the host controller. It transfers I/O data over the network from its local I/O backplane to the controller. In addition, the POINT I/O adapter supports simultaneous communication with different scanner modules. Allen-Bradley 1734-AENTR I/O is a 2-port Ethernet adapter that provides Ethernet/IP network connectivity at rates of 10 to 100 Mbit/s, half or full duplex. It comes with 2 pass-through ports, Class 5 RJ-45 connectors for supporting ring or Daisy chain/linear networks, as well as existing tree and star network topologies. These Ethernet ports are configured as embedded switches. This adapter is part of the 1734 Series 2-port communication adapter for POINT I/O modules. It uses messages encapsulated in the standard TCP/UDP/IP protocol. Grade 5 twisted pair cable is used for the interface. I/O configuration is completed using the RSLogix 5000 software. Network scheduling and routing tables are not required. Plus, the 1734-AENTR can support connections from multiple controllers simultaneously. The 1734-AENTR adapter is mounted on DIN rails and placed vertically. It comes with a pen wheel switch for setting network addresses. Other ways to set up a network's Internet protocol address include retrieving the IP address from non-volatile storage and using a DHCP server (setting the module to enable DHCP). To avoid unauthorized control or loss of control, assign a fixed IP address to the I/O adapter. If you use a DHCP utility, make sure you configure the same IP address for it as the adapter.
