General description

Base : 1 Component unsaturated high temperature resistant polyester resin.

Yellowish, transparent trickle resin with Damidil 9117 (Styrene based) as reactive diluent ; hot curing with good permanent

temperature properties for electrical insulation systems up to and including Class H.

The highly reactive Damisol 3042 is a very stable one component resin to be used on any continuous impregnating process

(Dipping, Roll Dip, Trickling); but also VPI with the right viscosity choice.

Application

Continuous impregnating process (Dipping, Roll Dipping, Trickling) of all kinds of windings, especially rotor and stator coils of

machines with high mechanical demands.

Processing

Resin 3042 can be processed using any manual or automatic dipping, roll dipping or trickling process. Its low viscosity allows an

excellent resin penetration in the slots, even without any preheating stations.The parameters and resin viscosity are to be chosen

for each type of motors accordingly. The 3042 has been developped at 700mPa.s and 120mPa.s. It could be diluted with diluent

9117 to achieve a lower viscositiy for very thin wires more difficult to penetrate. Higher viscosity versions are developped on

customer request.

Curing process: Minimum 30 -45 mn at 150°C minimum.

Higher temperature and time could be necessary to achieve higher mechanical or chemical resistance properties.

The resin has to be protected from contamination and high temperature (<25°C).

A regular viscosity check is therefore necessary.

20 kg cans,

200 kg drums,

1000 kg Containers.

Storage Conditions

12 months at 15°C in sealed containers protected from light and sun. Higher temperature can be reached during short period of

time.

If storing the resin in a supply tank we recommend keeping the resin under atmospheric pressure, in dry air. It is advantageous not

to fill the supply tank completely. The recommended filling level is 70%.

Open the can tap and stirr the resin from time to time will also enable oxygen to penetrate the resin and improve the pot life.
