Poly(propylene glycol)
Polypropylene glycol is a clear, colorless or mostly colorless viscous liquid. According to the average molecular weight 425, 1025 and 2025 divided into three kinds. Non-volatile. Soluble in water (low molecular weight) and organic solvents such as aliphatic ketones and alcohols, insoluble in ether and most aliphatic hydrocarbons. Melting point -40 °C, boiling point > 300 °C, density 1.01g /mL at 20 °C, vapor density > 1 (vs air).

Product application
Its single ester is a non-ionic surfactant and can also interact with alcohols to form ethers. It is a solvent for vegetable oils, resins and paraffins, and is also used in the preparation of alkyd resins, emulsifiers, deemulsifiers, lubricants and plasticizers. It is prepared by condensation of propylene oxide and propylene glycol in the presence of high pressure or acidic catalyst.
